Built on seven hills with the river Tagus flowing through its heart, the buzzing Portuguese capital is one of the oldest cities in the world, predating London, Rome and Paris by centuries. Lisbon's long history can be seen in its architecture. Beyond its iconic suspension bridge, the streets of the tiled city contain an avant-garde architectural legacy.
Lisbon rises and falls across a landscape of steep hills beside the Tagus. Its tiled facades, yellow trams, maritime monuments and viewpoints tell the story of a city shaped by exploration, empire and the devastating earthquake of 1755.
Our skyline brings together Belem Tower, Lisbon Cathedral, Church of Sao Vicente De Fora and National Pantheon, capturing some of the architecture and landmarks that make Lisbon unmistakable.
